#WritersBlockWednesdays: A Kept Woman

In the world of love and marriage, I see myself as a modern day starlet who is independent of her husband with a splash of stepford wife ways. I’m no doormat but no means however I do enjoy the idea of serving my husband needs; the man who honors me, respects me, loves my beautiful flaws, with or without all my makeup shenanigans my king still loves me!

Its officially summer and Im all in love….with ME of course! But the hopeless romantic in me has been daydreaming about thee perfect weddings. So now that I’m all in my feelings the only way to get it out is to blog about it! Click here for my #SummerBrides post. Is my old fashion traditional beliefs lowering my chances of Mr. Right finding me?

According to People Magazine, actress Zoe Saldana tells InStyle Magazine that her husband choose to take Zoe’s last name. “I told him, ‘If you use my name, you’re going to be emasculated by your community of artists, by your Latin community of men, by the world.’ But Marco looks up at me and says [she puts on his Italian accent], ‘Ah, Zoë, I don’t give a sheet.”

Now letting my husband take my last name um hell to the no. Thats where is draw the line. Im that girl that practices how my name would look on my new Hello Kitty checks with his last name as a replacement. So how much of my traditional values do I compromise on? Getting married in a church or a themed destination wedding. Either way don’t get caught up in planning the wedding that you forget the real meaning of this moment; two souls coming together as one union.
